Here at Nissan of Meridian, we want you to be an informed truck or SUV owner so that you use your vehicle correctly in the right moments. So, what exactly is the difference between 4H and 4L? Here's a breakdown so that you are always in the right gear.
4H for Higher Speeds
You can use 4H when you are driving on the highway in snowy conditions, or when driving on a smoothly paved dirt road. It's smart to keep speeds under 55 mph if you have shifted into 4H.
4L for Slower Speeds
4L is designed to give you more torque in those super difficult driving conditions. For this reason, you should never do more than about 35 mph if you are in 4L as it can cause damage to the drivetrain. Visit us in Meridian, MS for all of your four-wheel drive consultations.
