DEADLINE FOR PROPOSALS EXTENDED until April 15th! The FIU Libraries’ Peer Review and Research Committee is pleased to invite you to submit a proposal for the 6th Annual FIU Libraries' Peer Review and Research Symposium: Libraries as Community. This fully online event will be held on June 3, where we'll explore how libraries can better serve as anchors of learning, literacy and togetherness. Faculty and staff from FIU Libraries and peer organizations from South Florida are encouraged to participate. Some suggested session topics include: -Building Bridges through Partnership -Fostering Wellness through Culture -Researching Community Needs -Collaborative Problem-Solving -Assessing Partnership Outcomes The deadline for submissions is Wednesday, April 15, 2024 by 5pm via the online submission form (https://lnkd.in/gfbsgfrg). Confirmation of accepted proposals will be emailed by April 22nd. Guidelines for presentations and presenters: Presentations should be no longer than 20 minutes followed by a 5 minute Q&A. Presentations will occur in a sequential series during the course of the day. Presenters must register for the Symposium (free registration). Would you like to provide insight on how the implementation of the Next Generation Science Standards is going at your school? I would love to get your perspective! The perspectives of ALL educators/administrators at all levels are needed.My name is Lauren Bowers and I am working on a preliminary pilot study for my dissertation where I am gathering data to explore the current implementation status of the Next Generation Science Standards. The survey is designed using the NGSS District Implementation Indicators and will be valuable in furthering the research on NGSS in US & international schools. Participation is voluntary and your responses will be kept confidential. No identifiable information will be associated with your responses in any reports of the data. A colleague and friend of mine at the University of Minnesota is completing a PhD on bio-inspired innovation. They are studying how various biological patterns used in bioinspiration are perceived by members of different professional communities. They have developed a 15-20 min survey and has asked that I share it with others to help generate data for their dissertation. Would you consider participating?Your response will be anonymous unless you provide your contact information to volunteer for a follow up interview. Your data will not be shared with anybody outside the research team or published unless it is de-identified. Excerpts and quotes of your open ended answers may be included in publication but will be selected in such a way as to not identify the source. This survey has been deemed exempt by the University of Minnesota Institutional Review Board. More information about the study can be found on the first page of the survey.
