If trucks and trailers were always a perfect match of size and ability, most loads would never happen. I never look at my hauling a load as whether or not I can just get it from point A to point B, but rather is the combinations of truck and trailer plus it's loaded weight a safe haul and if/am I'm willing to risk other drivers safety on the road for my lack of common sense. We've all done it, pulled those scary azzed loads at one time or another and I see some that do it daily. Whether a goose neck is safer to pull than/over a bumper hitched, that's up to the experts, all I've read and heard just proves that it's what the individual would rather have in terms of convenience and user friendliness. Can a 1/2 ton truck pull a goose neck trailer? Sure. Will it pull a medium sized trailer? Depends on what the hell one calls a medium trailer. I'd call a 16' trailer a medium sized trailer, but with it loaded to it's rated weight, I won't pull it with a 1/2 ton truck. Getting it moving is not the problem, controlling it at speed and stopping it is the problem. But, this is only my personal opinions, but I stick by them for my safety and any members that may be on the road at the same time with me. __________________ Quoting "The Hunt".
