Chapter Text
The Warp Pad flashed on an island in the middle of the ocean where a large crystal structure stood tall. "Whoa, what is this place?" asked Steven.
"This is the communication hub, we're here to destroy it" said Pearl "it's emitting too much electromagnetic radiation." "What does that mean?" asked Steven.
"It's disrupting communication signals such as TV and internet" Garnet explained. "NOOOO!" Steven called out in horror. "Eevee vee! Eevee!" Eevee added, as if to say "No! I'll miss the next Iono Zone stream!"
"Come on, Eevee! We have to wreck it all!" said Steven, letting out all his Pokemon. He ordered his Pokemon to attack various parts of the communication hub, he even joined in too, punching a pillar.
Amethyst then placed her hand on his shoulder "I love the enthusiasm, kiddo! And I love how you got your Pokemon to lend a helping hand, but we're still gonna need more power than that!" Amethyst then took the form of a muscular version of Steven.
"That's all the me I could be..." Steven said in a starstruck tone. "Eevee! Hee hee hee!" Eevee murmured, as if to say "Yeah, I bet you want to be like that just to show off to Connie!"
"In any case, Amethyst has a point, if we try to demolish the hub as ourselves, we'll be here all night" said Garnet "let's fuse, Amethyst."
Amethyst immediately screamed like an excited fangirl at the concert of latest teen heartthrob. "Wait! Amethyst! Do you mean you and Garnet are going to fuse!?" Steven excitedly asked.
Amethyst shrieked excitedly at him in response. "I don't know about this, Garnet. When the two of you fuse you can be...unmanageable" said Pearl.
"Pearl, we need the destructive power of Sugilite" said Garnet. Amethyst and Garnet began prepping their fusion dance, Pearl covered Steven's eyes when Garnet finished her dance in a rather suggestive pose as Amethyst dove right into her.
Suddenly, a dark purple light enveloped the island as a huge titan emerged. It looked like a monster with a huge pare of shades and one big eyeball above them.
"I forgot how good it feels to be me!" said Sugilite, with a voice that sounded like it was being produced by a voice actress Cartoon Network could only afford to hire once.
"Whoa! Cool! Are you gonna wreck this hub?" asked Steven. "You know it!" said Sugilite smashed a huge chunk out of the hub. "Whooooa!" Steven and his Pokemon, minus Pyroar were all impressed.
"You like that, little man?" asked Sugilite. "Yeah!" said Steven. Sugilite then went on a whole smashing frenzy, Steven was so excited he didn't notice the small piece of debris that was headed for his head.
"OW!" Steven yelped. "Steven! Ugh, I knew they'd go too far as Sugilite! Come on, Steven, get your Pokemon back in their balls, you need first aid!" said Pearl
"But Pearl..." said Steven. "No buts, Steven! You need first aid, now come on" said Steven. "Aaaaaaw" Steven moaned as he reluctantly put away his Pokemon. As they left, a piece of debris hit the warp pad.
The next morning, Steven went to The Big Donut. Pearl was a little overzealous with the first aid, the wound from the rock wasn't as bad as Pearl made it out to be, but his head was covered in gauze.
Inside the Big Donut, Lars was looking as bored and inattentive as ever, and Sadie looked like she was doing all the work, as per usual. Pretty much a normal day at the cafe/convenience store.
Misdrevous called its trainers attention, that's when Sadie noticed the gauze "Huh? Oh! Steven! Hey! What happened to you?" "Just a little battle damage from my last Crystal Gem mission" Steven boasted.
"Battle damage? Really? What were you battling?" Lars scoffed. Steven undid some of the gauze on his head revealing the small cut "Debris from a giant tower."
Sadie and Lars both began laughing at Steven, to which he embarrassingly covered up his wound. "Must not have been a piece" said Sadie. "You're too soft, Steven" said Lars.
"At least I'm better at Pokemon battles" Steven argued. "Yeah, but that's not real manliness if your Pokemon do all the work" said Lars "If I wanted to, I could whip out my six pack and showed you how to be a real man!"
Lars took out a soda can and tried opening it, but he was struggling to do so. He was trying so hard his face was turning purple from the grunting.
Steven simply took the can and popped open the can. "Uh...well, I loosened it up for ya..." said Lars. "More like you're the pot calling the kettle black" said Sadie.
"Yeah, Lars, you're not exactly what you're building yourself up to be" said Sadie "although, I guess I'm not as fit as I could be."
"Hey! Maybe we should try and get stronger!" said Steven "we should set up our own gym!"
"An unauthorized Pokemon Gym?" said a lawyer who was hiding in plain sight "by the authority of the Unova Pokemon League, you are to cease and desist with your plans for a gym not authorized or endorsed by Pokemon League through the usual channels will be fined up to ten thousand or more depending on progress."
"Not a Pokemon gym! A regular gym, for exercise!" Steven clarified. "Oh. That's okay then. Carry on" said the lawyer as he shifted back into hiding in plain sight.
"Anyway, I know just the guy who can help us!" said Steven. About fifteen minutes later, Greg was setting up some makeshift exercise equipment with some actual exercise equipment.
"Thanks for helping us, Dad" said Steven. "Hey, not a problem, besides, I should probably join you" said Greg "I've been putting off my routine for months...years...decades."
"Rilla! Rilla! Boom! Boom!" Greg's Rillaboom chanted as it flexed its muscles. "Yeah, Rillaboom's been better at maintaining his figure" Greg admitted.
Just then Pearl was going by "Hey Pearl, care to check out some buff studs?" "No..." Pearl groaned in disgust. It was then that Pearl noticed Greg bought Rillaboom, and as it usually did when she was around, he stared at her.
"Ugh! I hate it when you bring your Rillaboom, Greg! He always stares at me!" Pearl said as she rushed up the stairs. "Hey, Rillaboom, how about setting up a rhythm for us to work out to?" asked Greg.
Rillaboom took out its Tree trunk drum and began playing a slow rhythm which everyone caught up to. Steven then suddenly realized, he forgot to get water, hydration is important for exercise after all.
As Steven went to get water, he could hear Pearl singing about how he could have shown Steven to be strong in the real way, about how Sugilite was giving him the wrong message of strength and how she wished she could inspire Steven the same way that fusion did.
But as Pearl finished folding laundry and went back to her room, Steven immediately rushed to get a few bottles of water and rejoined the group, Rillaboom had picked up the tempo at that point.
Sadie was doing some lifting with smaller hand weights as Misdreavus cheered. Lars was struggling with a bench press...with two five pound weights.
"Scraggy...help me!" Lars grunted. Scraggy leapt up on Lars and lifted the bench press weight with one hand. "Show off..." Lars groaned. When suddenly, a huge familiar figure immerged from the ocean.
"I'M BOOOOOORED!" Sugilite roared. "Wh-what is that!?" Sadie exclaimed. "Sugilite!" said Steven. "Don't worry, I'll take care of this" said Pearl.
"YOU LEFT ME ALONE ON THAT ISLAND!" said Sugilite. "That's because you were being reckless and you ruined the warp pad!" said Pearl.
"YOU'RE SO ANNOYING! YOU'RE WEAK BUT YOU THINK YOU CAN BOSS ME AROUND!?" Sugilite complained. "I am not weak! Sugilite, you're out of control!" said Pearl who readied her spear.
"You want to fight!?" Sugilite mocked. Pearl began attacking Sugilite, but to no avail, as she was quickly swatted away by the fusion. "Dad, we gotta help her!" said Steven.
"No need to worry! Rillaboom, it's been a while, but you think you can handle a battle?" asked Greg. Rillaboom answered with a thumbs up. "Alright! Drum beating!" Greg ordered.
"Drum Beating, what's that gonna do!?" Lars complained. Rillaboom pounded on its Drum Stump with a ferocious beat, causing vines to emerge from the ground, bounding Sugilite's legs and causing it to topple over.
"Shadow ball, Misdreavous!" Sadie commanded. Sadie's Misdreavous unleashed a shadow ball attack right in Sugilite's exposed eye. "Scraggy! Uh..." said Lars who suddenly went at a loss as to what to do.
But Scraggy had already done a headbutt attack on Sugilite "Uh, yeah! That! Good job at reading my mind, Scraggy, just like we practiced!" Lars lied.
Sugilite roared and stood up, expressing tremendous power that overwhelmed the Pokemon close to it "You all ain't nothing!" Sugilite taunted.
"Eevee, Baby Doll Eyes!" Steven commanded. Eevee leapt up in the air, looked Sugilite straight in the eyes and gave Sugilite a glance with some rather sparkly eyes accompanied by a wink.
"AAAAAAUGH! TOO CUTE!" Sugilite recoiled. "Pearl! Stat lowering moves worked on her, attack again!" said Steven. Pearl immediately got up "Alright, Steven, thanks for the second chance, I'll make the best of it!"
Pearl leapt up with her spear "I am no weakling! Take this!" said Pearl, jamming her spear in Sugilite, causing her to seperate into Garnet and Amethyst.
"Garnet! Amethyst! Are you two okay?" asked Pearl. "Let me guess, we got carried away?" asked Amethyst. "We got carried away" Garnet answered her.
"Is this the kind of stuff you go up against on your missions?" asked Lars. "Yup" Steven answered proudly. "I take back what I said, you're more of a man than I am" Lars admitted.
