How Can I Tell If I Have a New or Old Style Peterbilt Manifold?
Peterbilt changed their manifolds on top of the fuel tank sometime around 2007. Your old-style manifold with all the fittings in line is from 2007 and older. For that reason, the fasted and easiest way to determine the style of your tank is to check if your tank has removable draw tubes.
If you can remove the draw tubes from your tank and put them in a new tank, you have an old style manifold.
You have the new style of manifold, if your draw tubes are permanently welded in the tank and the fittings on the top are not in line.
These Alttec tanks are in a variety of options, so you can find the exact tank you need. They bolt right onto your truck without the need for modifications. The tanks feature a Peterbilt-style neck that will accept the flip top fuel cap. This makes it almost identical to your factory-installed tank.
Cost Savings
Save On Total Cost: Alttec tanks cost 35 to 40 percent less than tanks that come directly from the dealership.
Warranty:These tanks come with a 2-year warranty. Most tanks that come directly from the dealership do not come with such backing.

Keep a worry-free truck with these maintenance tips! When you factor in the radius of operation, a semi truck tank generally holds 120 to 150 gallons of fuel per tank, meaning that two tanks will total up to 300 gallons.
How Far Can a Semi-Truck Go on a Full Tank? Whether your truck's fuel capacity is 120 or 150 gallons, average semi trailer fuel efficiency is 6-8 miles per gallon and can travel between 900 to 2,000 miles on a full tank of diesel.
When it comes to stationary fuel tanks, we insist on sloped floors. This might sound a little odd, however there is science behind this and to the cleanliness of your fuel supply. A 'sloped floor' means that the water contaminant pools to the lowest point in the tank making the testing and retrieval process simple.
Peterbilt. The Peterbilt 579 gets just under 10 miles per gallon. It stands out for its classic Peterbilt design and new technology to make driving safer and easier. The hood, bumper, and air dam are all made for less wind resistance and to promote fuel economy.
The Class 8 Peterbilt Model 579, powered by a Cummins ISX15 engine, achieved 10.7 mpg during testing last month between Denton TX and Vernon TX. The 312-mile route was the same one used two years ago, when the first version of the Cummins-Peterbilt SuperTruck averaged just under 10 mpg.
How Far Can a Semi-Truck Go on Empty? While several factors can affect this, such as the cargo, size of the engine, and style of the cab, most semi trucks can keep going for 200 miles thanks to a bigger fuel tank.
Many people are under the impression that having less fuel in your tank means your car weighs less and is more efficient as a result. However, what's more likely is that your car's fuel economy is best when there's less air caught in your fuel tank, i.e. when the gas tank is full.
Overall, if you have an overfilled gas tank it can lead to issues with starting and accelerating your car, poor fuel efficiency, and problems with your emissions system. Further, when you spill gas on the ground you're polluting soil and water sources, as well as contributing to air pollution.
The trailer's capacity is controlled by the max gross vehicle weight of 80,000 lbs for trucks in most of the states across the United States. Small tanker trucks have a maximum capacity of 1,000 to 3,000 gallons, while large tankers have a maximum capacity of 11,600 gallons.
