Today is Black Women in Sports Day! We extend a special congratulations to Chandra Mack, a standout alumna from the class of 1992, who along with other Cobra basketball giants such as Tillette Gibson Scott, helped put co*ker's women's sports on the map. We also recognize the contributions of all Cobra black women athletes, both past and present. Your commitment and achievements are truly inspiring, and we are proud to celebrate you. To Chandra, whose impressive statistics are among the best and surpass those of most women alumni athletes, we offer our warmest congratulations on your leadership as you were an amazing, Cobra team captain who went on to utilize your leadership in the US army and recognized as an outstanding military retiree, and corporate leader. You are our MVP in every sense of the term. Our leaders had the pleasure of connecting with Chandra at the Black Alumni Collective during the national convention at Rutgers. We look forward to having Chandra join CBAN as a mentor for our female athletes in the upcoming academic year. Chandra serves as a shining example of what black female athletes can achieve, and her accomplishments speak volumes. She put the 'C' in Cobra women's basketball. Her statistics are truly remarkable amongst all athletes in every sport. #goat #cobrablackwomensinsportshistory.#blackexcellence #militaryexcellence #straightouttalamar #cobrapride Tillette Scott Chandra Mack

There are no words to describe the numbness that we all feel right now. Dr. Rubinstein, you will be missed so much. We last congregated as a group with me, you, Professor Hyman, Sherrie, Tara, Heather and Terrance, when he came to speak at co*ker a few years ago. We said we would all get back together we all laughed and cried but, we never got back together as a group. I saw you two years ago for homecoming and last year you were so sick you were unable to take visitors. So, Tara and I talked to you on the phone from the driveway. My heart ached a little as the strong voice that was always so profound to us sounded a little weak after your dialysis session. Your celebration of life is a testament to the love and wisdom you shared. Back then regardless of your major we all took classes from EVERYONE. Thanks to you, I knew education could never be the life for me.. enjoyed the classes though.. LOL.. You always offered your opinion about what I should "touch on" as the Periscope editor. This is a big loss, Life is so short. I will always remember you, as we reflect on your life we would be remiss to remember those we loved that have transitioned, such as Dr. Daniels, Dr. Mosteller, Dr. French, Dr. Lemke, Dr. Shaffer, Dr. Gandy, Dr. Hamby, Dr. Litsey and Dean Hartzog, Rev. Foster, Professor Yolanda Forero-Hernandez, Dr. Kim Chalmers we miss you all, and we thank you. We hope we have made you proud, we did what you taught us to be, the best version of ourselves that we can be. You all taught us to always be strong, to stand up for the voiceless but to love others and always give back. We are trying our best. Words can't express the pain that some of us feel right now. We love you Dr. Rubinstein, may you rest with the others in paradise. I have your last voice mail message you left and I will keep it forever! I remember the embrace where you told me John Foster when in a better place after his sudden passing. This is hard but I was blessed by you, we were were blessed by you! Rest in Perfect Paradise. We know that you were with us on election night in spirit. #Legend #thoseDanielskids #lifeisshort #Imissthe90's #cobrapride https://lnkd.in/enqHSAT9
